Henry Ford’s quote, “If everyone is moving forward together, then success takes care of itself,” is one of my personal favorite quotes on teamwork.

Teamwork is the collaborative effort of a group to achieve a common goal or to complete a task in the most effective and efficient way. This concept is seen within the greater framework of a team, which is a group of interdependent individuals who work together towards a common goal.

A team worker uses strong communication skills, is an active listener, and develops and maintains credibility with colleagues. Colleagues cooperate with one another and apply their individual skills toward completing a common project or meeting a goal to improve performance and productivity.

Teamwork brings people together (the bonding agent) and motivates them to rely on one another to get things done. Teamwork also makes progress easier (the lubrication) and allows the group to overcome obstacles that would have stymied an individual. Without teamwork, none of that would be possible.
